Toledo Lucas County Public Library System asks voters to approve new bond [Video]

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – For the first time in nearly 30 years, the Toledo Lucas County Library System is attempting to pass a bond issue. Issue 24 is a one mill bond that library leadership said will cost the owner of a $100,000 home $3 per month or $35 per year for the next 30 years.

“We think that our community members deserve the best from their public library system,” Executive Director of the Toledo Lucas County Public Library system Jason Kucsma said. “We’re hopeful that they’ll support this bond issue so that we can really take care of the physical spaces that have taken care of us for so long.”

Kucsma said, that if passed, the money brought in by the bond will only go toward capital improvements such as building maintenance and upgrades. He said the Holland and Heatherdowns library branches are both being considered for expansion, which …
