Tips to combat questionable information from artificial intelligence [Video]

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – With artificial intelligence becoming more advanced by the day, it’s getting even more difficult for people to decipher fact from fiction.

To help combat concerns over questionable information A.I. technology may be feeding to the masses through the internet, a representative for the Rapid City Public Library offers tips people can use to differentiate facts from falsehoods.

She says if something feels off about the info you’re researching, double-check your sources for credibility and if the source can’t be found, then it’s a big red flag.

People can also go to library staff members to help them verify web links and prevent them from going down rabbit holes.

“Don’t take anything at face value. The problem, of course, is balancing that with not turning into a totally mistrustful society because that doesn’t benefit either,” Director of the Rapid City Public Library Terri Davis said.
