Thunderstorms with marble-sized hail in Escambia County Sunday [Video]

The National Weather Service issued a report at 5:41 p.m. on Sunday for strong thunderstorms until 6:30 p.m. for Escambia County.

Anticipate marble-sized hail (0.5 inches) and wind gusts of up to 50 mph.

“At 5:40 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm 11 miles east of East Brewton, or 12 miles east of Brewton, moving southeast at 10 mph,” according to the weather service. “Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.”

According to the weather service, “If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.”
