Three East Texas cities to hold Walk to End Alzheimers [Video]

TYLER, Texas (KETK) – Three East Texas cities will be home to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s this fall.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event dedicated to raising money for care and research of Alzheimer’s, a disease with kills more people than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined.

Texarkana, Longview and Tyler will be the sites of three separate walks, each with the goal of raising money for Alzheimer’s support. Each walk is one mile long, or five kilometers.

Each walk will feature a Promise Garden, which allows participants to raise flowers representing their relation with the disease. Blue flowers mean the individual has Alzheimer’s/dementia, yellow flowers represent someone supporting or caring for someone with Alzheimer’s/dementia, purple flowers mean they have lost someone to Alzheimer’s/dementia and orange flowers mean they support the cause and vision of a …
