(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Schools in Joliet and Plainfield have been holding classes online on Monday, after threats were made against several public schools.

The threat reportedly stated: “All schools in Joliet will have two students with a weapon inside each school.”

As a result, all classes in Joliet Public Schools District 86 transitioned to e-learning Monday as a result.

Students in Plainfield’s Troy Community Consolidated School District 30-C will also have an e-learning day.

Joliet Township High School continued with in-person learning, but all students were searched as they entered the building.

The Joliet Police Department said it is continuing to investigate the threat.
