CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – The Charleston Animal Society celebrates their 150th anniversary with thousands of people at their annual festival.
“Paws in the Park” brought in around 3,000 people Saturday at Brittlebank Park in downtown Charleston.
All the money raised from ticket sales is going back to the society to continue supporting Lowcountry animals in need.
Live 5 News sponsored the special occasion and handed out branded, collapsible dog bowls to attendees.
From an adoption zone, to live music, to food and drinks, he event saw a lot of community members enjoying the experience.
Plus all of the furry friends roaming around the park had their own activities to ejoy.
“I’ve seen all kinds of dogs out here and I think people appreciate a place that they can bring their animal, have a beer and enjoy some great food,” Chairman of the Charleston Animal Society Mark Deputy said.
