Now in its 32nd year, the event has become a Thanksgiving morning tradition for thousands.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. β Over 6,400 participants gathered at Van Andel Arena for the 32nd annual Grand Rapids Public Schools Turkey Trot Thanksgiving morning. The event, presented by Blue Care Network of Michigan, transformed the city streets into a celebration of fitness and community.
βItβs fun to start this way, and end the day later eating the turkey and having a meal together,β fourth-year runner Julie Lloyd told 13 ON YOUR SIDE.
The event featured multiple race categories to welcome participants of all ages and abilities. Young runners took part in the LMCU Mini Trot, a free entry event for children 12 and under, while the My Team Triumph race provided a special opportunity for individuals with disabilities to join in the fun.
