SLIDELL, La. — Just five days before Christmas, the Serrano family lost everything, their car, Christmas presents, and equipment for their painting business.
“I had all the Christmas gifts, my family’s Christmas gifts, stuff we bought for our new place, it’s all gone,” Jessie Serrano said.

After eight years in Slidell Pentecostal’s parsonage, Spanish Ministry Pastor Miguel Serrano and his wife Jessie had plans to open gifts with their two daughters in their new home.
The day before they were supposed to move, the parsonage went up in flames, and everything from their beds to their daughter’s brand-new bikes was burned to a crisp.
“We basically lost everything,” Serrano said. “I’m going to go through boxes and see if I can salvage anything.”
