KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – An organization that represents thousands of truckers has shown its gratitude for veterans in the Kansas City metro.
On Friday, Dec. 6, the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association unloaded a truck full of canned goods and boxed food donated to the Veterans Community Project in Kansas City.
In addition to food, the group also delivered a handful of recliners.
“We’ve evolved into the support for the Veterans Community Project because they provide a very needed and worthwhile service,” said Todd Spencer OOIDA President. “It’s a service we’re glad to support.”
Truckers for Troops also gave the local organization a $10,000 check. The campaign started nearly two decades ago and now also helps may veterans through care packages.
