These are serious temperatures: Colorado Springs city leaders preparing for snowstorm [Video]

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) -On Friday, city officials held a press conference to let residents know what they are doing to ensure people are ready for the sub-zero conditions.

“These are serious temperatures. Exposure to these temperatures can cause bodily harm and if you are exposed for an extended period of time, it can be fatal. Having situational awareness is what we talk about,” said Andrew Notbohm, Director of the Pikes Peak Office of Emergency Management.

According to the Public Works department for this story they will not be using de-icing agents but instead will focus on maintaining traction on the roads. They say they will lay down sand and other materials to give cars more grip.
