ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – On Christmas Day, the Atlanta community turned out to help those in need.
“These are happy tears, these are not sad tears. But, I’m just… blessed,” said Talica Dickerson, who brought her son to a toy giveaway in southwest Atlanta.
The nonprofit Nicole’s House of Hope held the giveaway for 1,200 underprivileged children at the Mall West End on Wednesday.
“This just shows the spirit and the generosity of a loving Atlanta community,” said Archie Calloway, board chairman with Nicole’s House of Hope.
Nonprofit leadership said the purpose of the giveaway was to allow families to focus on household bills.
Underserved families received a sack full of toys, clothing and food on the holiday afternoon.
Dickerson said the giveaway is proof she’s got the support of her Atlanta community.
