The company announced last month it planned to shutter 140 locations in the United States.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Five Wendy’s locations in Louisville are closing for good as part of the company’s plan to shutter over 100 restaurants before the end of the year.
The five locations are:
4955 Brownsboro Rd. – Northfield.
2800 Packerland Way – Okolona.
4259 Outer Loop – Okolona.
4312 Cane Run Rd. – St. Dennis.
5105 Preston Hwy. – Newburg.
Woodford Hoagland, of Hoagland Realtors, confirmed the closures to WHAS11. The company is advertising each property as for sale.
In November, the Ohio-based fast food chain said it planned to close 140 locations, but also said it was open to building the same number of new restaurants in better locations.
Wendy’s CEO Kirk Tanner said on an earnings call that restaurants targeted for closure were “outdated and located in underperforming areas.”
Wendy’s operates about 6,000 locations in the United States.
