Theres a lot of fear: Tens of thousands in MS could be impacted by Trumps mass deportation plan [Video]

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – We are a little more than a month away from President-Elect Donald Trump’s Inauguration Day.

Trump continues to tout a mass deportation plan once he’s officially sworn into office.

That plan targets undocumented immigrants.

It’s a plan that doesn’t sit well with Patrica Ice.

She’s an immigration attorney and serves as the Legal Project Director for the Mississippi Immigrants Rights Alliance.

“What he is planning on doing is outrageous,” said Ice. “I’m very concerned about it; I believe that he will try it.”

Right now, there are roughly 22 thousand undocumented immigrants living in Mississippi, according to a recent report by the Mississippi State Auditor’s Office.

Once in office, Trump plans to move aggressively on mass deportation.

It’s a plan that costs nearly $90 Billion.

The President-elect wants to use law enforcement and potentially military troops to carry out this plan.
