The Sergeant Bluff community dropped off their old electronics for recycling to protect the environment [Video]

SERGEANT BLUFF, IA (KTIV) – Electronic Recycling Services drove down to Sergeant Bluff, IA, this afternoon to collect a variety of appliances that people no longer need.

The drop-off event took place on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Ranging in price from $5 to $45, the community could drop off anything that has a circuit board in it, including televisions, computers, stereos and more.

Wes Olson, the Owner of Electronic Recycling Services said, the items get sent to an EPA-certified recycler to get taken apart to dispose of the hazardous materials inside of it.

“We had some people today that came and they were cleaning out their dad’s house who went into the nursing home who’s like 90 years old,” said Olsen. “It was just amazing, all the old stuff that they brought that they never got rid of because they just didn’t know where to …
