The Philadelphia museum where history is on fire [Video]

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — When the nation recently reflected on the 911 anniversary, some may have visited Fireman’s Hall Museum, located in historic Old City. Some in Philadelphia might not even know the museum is there.

Fireman’s Hall Museum, a renovated firehouse that was built in 1898, is one of the nation’s premier institutions focused on the preservation of firefighting history and the promotion of fire safety. It has the first exhibit commemorating the firefighters who died from the events of 911.

On this edition of Shara in the City, KYW’s Shara Dae Howard tours the museum with curator Brian Anderson and talks to a retired police sergeant who was at Ground Zero. Listen to their discussion about history, duty, and the importance of never forgetting.

“Shara in the City” is part of KYW Newsradio’s weekly original podcast Bridging Philly. Listen to the whole episode here or on the Audacy app— or snag it anywhere …
