WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The Healing Place of New Hanover County held its annual Alumni Dinner on Friday evening.
The Healing Place offers help for those who struggle with addiction. During the event, the community honored those who graduated from their program.
The director of development says that the community plays a huge part when it comes to helping those with addiction.
“We believe that community inspires recovery. Addiction is one of the most isolating things that some can go through and so the people who are here cheering on our folks have been there all along. They have seen our clients at their worst days and now they’re here to celebrate their triumphs,” Megan Weber-Youssefi said.
Youssefi also says it takes an entire village and no one can participate in the walk of recovery alone.
