The Frenchmen changing art scene in downtown Mobile [Video]

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Port City favorite — The Excelsior Band — brought the music and the energy downtown Friday morning — helping the Chamber of Commerce — cut the ribbon — officially opening The Frenchmen.

With a second line down North Jackson — they’re ushering in a collection of Gulf Coast artists — not just showcasing their work but offering unique experiences.

“What we are trying to do is bring more arts to downtown. So we’re going to have art classes, health classes… We have an in house tarot reader. We are doing haunted tours, tea experiences, kind of just bring in a variety of things and even have French classes here to create a French community on Sundays,” explained Leo Ferreira, The Frenchmen.
