GAME OF THE WEEK: Wesson vs. Jefferson County

We head to Co-Lin Community College, where the Wesson Cobras took on the Jefferson County Tigers in a critical game for playoff seeding.

Starting with Wesson’s first drive, which looked promising, the momentum ended when quarterback Cole Gipson launched a shot to the end zone. De’Anthony Miller made an unbelievable interception to take over.

They capitalized on that play when quarterback Royale Shelvy bought some time and then threw to Jaylin Brown, who came down with it to take an early lead.

Wesson quickly responded. On the ensuing kickoff, Deshawn Smith made a few defenders miss and was off to the races for six to tie the game.

But Jefferson County found their groove after that, and Shelvy began to dominate with his legs. He rolled out, found a crease down the sideline, and scored to regain the lead.
