MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) – The Boys and Girls Club of Washington County recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony at their Marietta Clubhouse.
The Boys and Girls Club remodeled their clubhouse during the first week of September. They held a ribbon cutting ceremony early Thursday afternoon to celebrate.
Lynn Reines, the Interim CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Washington County, said the kids loved the changes in the clubhouse.
The remodeling came when the Boys and Girls Clubs of Ohio Alliance chose the Marietta Clubhouse to receive a grant for refurbishment. The Boys and Girls Club of Washington County was one of the few clubs that were chosen.
Reines said the grant made the kids feel valued.
Ohio Congressman Mike Rulli sent a proclamation to help them celebrate. Marietta Mayor Josh Schlicher attended the ribbon cutting ceremony and gave a speech.
