SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – The city of Stockton’s 65th annual Black Walnut Festival began on Thursday.
The festival celebrates Stockton’s identity as the Black Walnut Capital of the World. It features a tractor pull, terrapin races, music, a parade on Saturday, and, of course, black walnuts. Money raised at the festival benefits the Stockton area.
“Every bit of the funds that are raised go back to the community,” said Maranda Spangler of St. “It could be local athletic teams, affiliated or not affiliated with the school, youth leadership organizations, so of course, some of those are school extracurriculars.”
The festival runs through Saturday. CLICK HERE for more information.
