PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – The American Heart Association would like to remind hunters to make heart healthy choices when going out to the woods.
The American Heart Association warns hunters about the dangers of cardiac events such as strokes and heart attacks. According to the W.Va. Division of Natural Resources, nearly 25% of the emergency calls they receive are about hunters experiencing cardiac events.
With cold temperatures affecting the Mid-Ohio Valley, the American Heart Association advises hunters to remain vigilant. Colder temperatures forces your heart to work harder than normal. This makes cardiac events more likely to occur.
