Texas Tech UHSC investigating recent ‘cybersecurity event’ [Video]

TEXAS, USA — Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (HSCs) said a recent incident that could affect the information of certain individuals.

In September 2024, the HSCs identified issues resulting in a temporary disruption to some computer systems and applications. As soon as the issues were identified, the HSCs say they took steps to ensure the security of the network.

An investigation was launched and confirmed a cybersecurity event caused the technology issues, resulting in access to or removal of certain files and folders from the HSCs’ network between Sept. 17 and Sept. 29, 2024.
