Tesla is calling for more energy installers to be certified on its products as the company winds down its own solar installations.
There’s no hiding it. Tesla’s solar installation business is disappearing.
For years, Tesla’s solar deployment has been going down almost every quarter and this year, the company hasn’t even bothered reporting deployment.
Last year, Electrek reported that Tesla was changing its solar strategy, laying off workers, and now betting on certified installers.
With its own installations going down, Tesla is instead trying to sell its energy products, mainly its Powerwall and solar inverter, to other installers. Tesla wants to own the “energy ecosystems” inside the homes and it can do that with its Powerwall and solar inverter.
This makes those homeowners potential VPP or Tesla Electric customers.
