SPOKANE, Wash. — Terrain is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a free art exhibit featuring over 800 pieces in downtown Spokane on Friday evening.
The gallery, open until midnight, features work from around 400 artists across various mediums, live draw-offs, and art battles.
“We’re super excited, really nostalgic about just the change and growth of the creative community in Spokane,” said Jackie Caro, Terrain’s Operations Director. This year’s event allows for reflection on the organization’s growth.
Since its inception in 2008, Terrain has hosted an annual art gallery, with attendance growing from a few hundred to an expected 7,000 this year. The number of participating artists has also increased significantly, from 30 in the early years to 427 this year.
Caro noted, “Just being a Spokanite, it’s just incredible to see them continue to show up and the community continue to show up.”
