Teen Summit aims to help MPS seniors make positive choices [Video]

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – A Montgomery church is on a mission to support and empower youth in our community. First Baptist Church Of Greater Washington Park held a special summit Friday to inspire young people to stay focused on success.

More than 1,000 high school seniors from Montgomery Public Schools packed into the Cramton Bowl Multiplex for the CHOICES (Choosing Healthy Options in Cultivating and Embodying Success) Teen Summit.

“They are excited. They have been engaged,” said Jo Guice, First Baptist Church of Greater Washington Park Member.

Speakers tackled a range of topics from mental health awareness to career exploration, aiming to inspire students to make bold, positive decisions in their everyday lives.

“We want them to remember that the choices that they make are the blueprints for the rest of their lives,” said Guice.

As part of the summit there were also breakout sessions where students heard from community leaders.
