Teen shot and killed by local security guard in Summit County shooting [Video]

COVENTRY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WJW) – The Summit County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly shooting that left a teen dead.

According to a press release, deputies responded to the 2600 block of South Arlington Road in Coventry Township around 2 a.m. Sunday.

A report of gunshots had come from a location where an event was being held earlier in the evening, the sheriff’s office said.

According to investigators, a security guard fired a shot that hit a 19-year-old in the chest.

The teen died at the hospital.

According to the medical examiner’s office, the victim was identified as Jayvon Jones-Dehart, from Orrville.

The sheriff’s office recovered a handgun.

Charges have not been filed at this time.
