Texas A&M redshirt freshman offensive lineman TJ Shanahan has been suspended after he was arrested Saturday night on two misdemeanor charges, A&M head coach Mike Elko said Monday.
Shanahan, 20, was booked on two charges – failure to identify and a minor in possession of alcohol – which are both misdemeanors, according to Brazos County jail records. Shanahan was released on Sunday after he posted bail of $2,300.
“We handled that internally,” Elko said at his weekly press conference. “He was suspended immediately, and now it’s under internal review and we’ll kind of go from there.”
College Station police said at around 10:45 p.m., Saturday, an officer at a Northgate area parking lot noticed Shanahan had two open containers of alcohol inside his car, which is against city ordinance. The …
