Tamarra Coleman to head Racine YMCA, steps down at Shalom [Video]

Shalom Center Executive Director Tamarra Coleman is stepping down to become chief executive officer at the Racine Family YMCA.

The Shalom Center Executive Board has unanimously appointed Esther Roberts, the center’s current housing case manager, as interim director.

“Under Tamarra’s leadership, the Shalom Center has grown and firmly established itself as an essential service to the Kenosha community,” said Robert Riedl with the Shalom Center Board.

The Shalom Center plans to immediately begin a search for a permanent executive director, with a job description and required qualifications to be posted on the Shalom Center website.

Coleman became a member of the Shalom Center’s management team after leaving her career in business in 2015. In February 2019, she became the executive director.
