Tactical Crime Squad officers have arrested 36 people on 116 charges including drug and weapon offences, following a week of targeted action in Fortitude Valley.
Officers also conducted a number of proactive engagements in addition to the execution of a number of search warrants since Monday November 11, bolstering the high visibility presence of police in the community.
Around 7.15pm on November 15, officers observed a man loitering beside a BMW sedan in an underground car park along Wickham Street. Officers allege this same vehicle evaded police in Spring Hill the previous day.
Officers approached the vehicle when it is alleged the man entered the vehicle and attempted to accelerate away, however was apprehended and placed under arrest where drugs, drug paraphernalia and weapons were located inside the vehicle.
