Sutter County: Sutter Pointe housing, community development under construction [Video]

SUTTER COUNTY, Calif. — Construction is underway on Sutter Pointe, a new housing and community development project bordering more than 7,528 acres of land in south Sutter County.

The project will offer various job opportunities, affordable housing, retail shopping, leisure facilities, schools, volunteer opportunities and other land uses.

Sutter Pointe will eventually be a city built in southern Sutter County. The project is surrounded by Natomas Road near the east side, Powerline Road and State Routh 99/70 near the west, North Main Canal and R Drain near the north, and the Sutter/Sacramento County line. 

On Oct. 28, 2014, the Board of Supervisors authorized an amendment to the Sutter Pointe Specific Plan about the eastern portion of the plan area, located south of Sankey Road, north of Riego Road and east of Pacific Avenue.
