Suspect wanted for hours-long burglary of Tigard school district building [Video]

TIGARD Ore. (KPTV) – Police are looking for a man accused of spending hours breaking into a Tigard-Tualatin School District building last month and stealing supplies meant for families in need.

The TTSD Resource Wing houses the district’s Family Resource Center, Virtual Academy and the Caring Closet.

Kim Thorne is the Caring Closet coordinator.

“So many of our families are working two jobs, struggling to make ends meet, and students need clothes to go to school,” Thorne said.

She said the Closet exists to help kids stay in school. The community donates clothes and funds, and students with referrals from staff are able to go shopping – for free – twice a year.

“We hear it from the families daily – how much it’s helping them out, they can focus on other bills,” Thorne said.
