COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – A woman was shot and injured after police say she pointed a gun at officers in the middle of a residential street.
On Wednesday, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office identified the woman as 43-year-old Kari Anstett. Anstett is in custody on four no-bond warrants for violating a restraining order.
The confrontation happened in broad daylight Tuesday afternoon in a neighborhood just behind the First & Main Town Center shopping complex. Police say they had originally been called there by a man reporting his former partner had showed up at his house.
“The Colorado Springs police officers were dispatched to the 5600 block of South Buckskin Pass Drive in regards to a domestic disturbance call for service,” said CSPD spokesperson Daniel Short. “The reporting party stated that his ex-girlfriend was at a residence, and she was ringing the doorbell and excessively knocking.”
