Suspect arrested in the robbery and assault of a Lyft driver [Video]

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – MPD arrested a suspect in connection to the robbery and assault of a Lyft driver on June 5.

Police said they responded to the Raceway on Government Boulevard at 10:14 p.m. and discovered several juveniles were using the Lyft rideshare app when they attempted to rob the victim of her vehicle on Pine Hill Drive.

Officials said during the altercation, one of the suspects hit the victim with a handgun.

All the suspect exited the vehicle and fled on foot, according to police.

The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries.

MPD said Emmet Turner, 18, as one of the suspect and charged him with second degree assault, first degree robbery, discharging a firearm and first degree theft of property.
