Suspect arrested for alleged kidnapping attempt in Alliance [Video]

ALLIANCE, Ohio — A suspect is in custody after Alliance police say he was arrested Sunday for allegedly attempting to kidnap a child.

While Alliance police haven’t released many details, the department posted on Facebook that patrol officers and detectives caught the suspect in Columbiana County.

“The child is safe,” according to Alliance police.

A police report shows that the suspect, Joshua Freyermuth of Alliance, was charged with attempted kidnapping.

Freyermuth, who is being held at the Stark County Jail, is expected to appear in court at 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
