SUNY Poly Program Increasing Student Completion Rates | Education [Video]

UTICA, N.Y. — 150 students at SUNY Poly now have access to Advancing Completion through Engagement, or the ACE program.

Each student in the program receives $1,200 through the New York State SUNY Transformation Fund.

The program also provides students with services that include personalized academic advising, career development, and community-building activities. 

Dawn Burns, the director of ACE at SUNY Poly, talked about how important the program is to the students. 

“The need was always there to have that extra person to talk to about things other than your classes. But I think right now students are finally starting to come out of the COVID bubble,” Burns said.

SUNY Poly first-year student Destinee McClain spoke at a press event and said students have to meet with an advisor at least once a month, and the school makes sure the students are getting involved in social activities.
