Sunday snowfall celebrated by high country businesses, outdoor recreationists [Video]

IDAHO SPRINGS, Colo. (KDVR) — Sunday’s snowfall along the foothills and the Interstate 70 corridor came as a relief to many businesses and ski resorts.

Kind Mountain Music and Kind Mountain Collective owner Nick Juenemann told FOX31 that the beginning of November marks an important time to receive increased precipitation, not only because Colorado needs the moisture but also because the snow season provides support for families.

“Lots of snow recreation which is good for business, good for fun, good for the whole community,” he said.

Those who depend on income from the ski industry agree that when it comes to snowfall, the sooner it comes the better.

“I look forward to hitting the slopes,” said one skier visiting Georgetown.

Keystone Resort opened for business on Saturday.

“It’s been incredible — the atmosphere of opening day is always amazing,” said a spokesperson.
