Summit to address how to reduce property blight in North Baton Rouge [Video]

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A summit will be held Tuesday to address blight and give property owners tools to reinvest in North Baton Rouge.

The Baton Rouge North Economic Development District and the City-Parish Planning Commission will host the Brownfields Redevelopment Summit from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at Baton Rouge Community College. The Ardendale Campus is located at 2115 North Lobdell Blvd.

“The Brownfields Program is under the City Planning Commission. It is a way to address blight, as well as a way to do site assessments on properties that have potential contamination,” said BRNEDD Executive Director April Hawthorne.
