Students warm hearts, bodies with donation to Cornerstone Rescue Mission [Video]

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Students and staff from St. Thomas More High and Middle along with St. Elizabeth Seaton Elementary schools delivered winter clothing to Cornerstone Rescue Mission on Tuesday morning.

For the past six years, the schools have been collecting clothing and money to buy needed items after Cornerstone reached out looking for a collaboration.

“We usually give people a three weeks notice, and we designate one day for – we call it ‘comfy for a cause day’ so you can donate a minimum of about $3 and that money goes towards all the stuff, and we have about three weeks where you can just donate long johns or socks,” Sloane Keszler, student body president of St. Thomas More High school, said.

Keszler added she enjoys giving back to the community and Thomas O’Meara, St. Thomas More Middle School agreed.
