Student Discovers Teacher’s Plan to Catch People Using ChatGPT: ‘Watch Out’ [Video]

A college student has stumbled upon her professor’s unique method for catching anyone using ChatGPT to write their assignments for them.

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in academic work is a source of some concern to those in education. While tools like ChatGPT can serve a purpose in helping students’ work, there is a worry that an overreliance could lead to problems.

This was best highlighted in a study published earlier this year in the journal Computers and Education: Artificial Intelligence in which researchers conducted a latent profile analysis of 490 university students to assess their ChatGPT use. The results revealed that close to one in four respondents (23.1 percent) rely on ChatGPT for drafting assignments and writing homework.
