AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) — Officials say a student at Westlake High School in Eanes ISD has been taken into custody after making threats on social media.
Eanes superintendent Dr. Jeff Arnett said in a letter to parents and students Sunday that several students had reported the posts from Snapchat. District officials and law enforcement were able to trace the posts.
The student, who has not been identified, is facing a charge of making a terroristic threat.
Arnett said the students who reported the post used the district’s anonymous Westlake Watch reporting system to bring it to the attention of administrators.
Officials believe there is no ongoing threat; but district police and other law enforcement will be “especially observant” this week according to Arnett.
