State issues correction to election pamphlet displaying wrong party affiliation for candidate [Video]

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A candidate for an Anchorage state House seat was mistakenly listed with the wrong party affiliation in the index of the Region II Official Election Pamphlet, according to state officials.

The office of Lt. Gov. Nancy Dahlstrom, who oversees state elections, issued an election pamphlet correction after former state Sen. Mia Costello, who is running as a Republican candidate in the Nov. 5 House District 15 race, was mistakenly listed as a Democrat in the index of the pamphlet.

“I was out door to door just [Thursday], and it came up at the door, and the response was, you know, the voter knows me. They know my record, and so my focus, really, as we get closer to the election, is just to keep going door to door, talking to folks, and if there are any questions, I’m there to answer,” Costello, who’s facing registered Democrats Dustin Darden and Denny Wells, said Thursday.
