ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A state representative is asking the Alaska Division of Elections about vote counts not yet finalized or made public, days after the general election.
Rep. Jamie Allard of Eagle River stated she was requesting public records from the Division of Elections, saying in a press release on Thursday that her request was specifically to Division of Elections Director Carol Beecher.
From Beecher, she demanded:
- All communications regarding ballot transportation from all precincts to the Region IV office in Nome, Alaska; and
- All communications regarding the thirteen precincts that have not yet reported any election results.
Allard attributed her request to the timeliness — or lack thereof — of reported election results, saying after 48 hours the state was still “no closer to having solid, reputable vote totals shared with the public.”
