LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Governor Jim Pillen has directed that the Nebraska State Capitol be illuminated in blue on Monday to mark the anniversary of the Hamas terror attack on Israel. The lighting is meant to show Nebraska’s solidarity with Israel, which was recently targeted by an Iranian missile strike. The blue color represents the Israeli flag, which is blue and white.
On the same day, Gov. Pillen will meet with representatives from Nebraska’s Jewish community to reflect on the attack and recognize the ongoing challenges. He will also make a public statement affirming Nebraska’s support for Israel and condemning antisemitism and terrorism.
“Israel remains the target of state-sponsored terrorism.
