CORINTH/DOVER-FOXCROFT — After months of negotiations, Northern Light Mayo Hospital will cease its 15-year-long partnership with a local fire department. Corinth Fire Department Captain and Advanced EMT James Seymour says that jeopardizes guaranteed coverage of the area.
In 2009, the Mayo Regional Hospital and the town of Corinth entered an agreement to staff one Mayo Hospital ambulance at the Corinth Fire Station which would respond to calls in Corinth, Bradford, and Charleston.
“Mayo Regional Hospital, and then Northern Light Mayo, have continued that promise through multiple different contracts,” said Captain Seymour.
On August 13th, a letter was sent from Northern Light Mayo Hospital’s President and Northern Light Health Senior Vice President Marie Vienneau to the town of Corinth. Stating negotiations between the hospital and the town came to a close without a renewed contract being reached.
