ST. TAMMANY(WGNO) — Organizers of the St. Tammany Parish coroner recall effort are utilizing a new strategy to reach the 37,000 signature goal to remove Dr. Christopher Tape from office.
Beginning about two weeks ago, mailers started going out to top voters in the parish asking them for their signatures.
“When the events started slowing down, when the heat started rising, we had to pivot and turn because we weren’t getting the 250 we needed a day so we started falling behind so we decided to raise some money and start sending out some flyers,” Recall organizer Jean Cefalu said.
