Spotify users can ask Gemini AI to find and play their favorite music now [Video]

Looking for specific songs, artists, or albums to play on Spotify? You can now get a helping hand from AI.

As spotted by 9to5Google, access to Google’s Gemini AI is currently rolling out to the Spotify Android app. You can request any music from the vast Spotify universe by speaking to Gemini using natural language. The capability comes courtesy of Gemini extensions, which allow the AI to expand its powers to other apps and services.

There are a few requirements and limitations before you’re able to dive in, as explained on a Google support page.

The feature is still in the process of rolling out, so you may not be able to access it yet. When I asked Gemini to play music from Spotify, it told me that it couldn’t directly play music on the service.
