Spokane launches new tool to track homelessness trends for community aid [Video]

SPOKANE, Wash. – A new tool has been introduced in Spokane to help track the state of homelessness in the region.

The dashboard was launched by local governments along with the Spokane Regional Health District. It gathers data from the City of Spokane’s “Homeless Management Information System.”

This system is a database that consistently pulls in information from various service providers and organizations across Spokane County.

The dashboard aims to provide a more consistent way to monitor homelessness trends compared to the current count.

The existing count will still be conducted, as it is required by the federal government for local governments to receive funding to address homelessness.
