ILLER CREEK, Wash. — Spokane County deputies used a drone to locate a vulnerable adult who was missing from his home near the Iller Creek Conservation Area.
According to a press release from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived at a home on East Custer Lane around 4 a.m. Saturday in response to a reported alarm. Upon arrival, they discovered it was a false alarm but later learned that a vulnerable adult was missing from the home.
Deputies said they began searching the rural area and determined that the man was appropriately dressed for the cold weather. At approximately 5:30 a.m., a deputy operating a drone detected a heat signature in the bushes, leading them to the man.
When found, he was extremely cold and confused but appeared uninjured. Deputies provided medical attention at the scene before transporting him to the hospital for precautionary evaluation and additional care …
