SCC is the only college in Washington state that is a member of Rock band Metallica’s scholarship foundation, All Within My Hands.
Spokane Community College (SCC) will revcieve $5,000 for the 2024-25 school year from Metallica’s scholarship foundation, All Within My Hands. They say the money will go toward basic student needs at the college.
SCC is one of the 10 original colleges to be a Metallica Scholars institution, which started back in 2019. For the sixth year in a row, they are one of 18 across the United States and Guam that recieves support from the foundation.
The organization was launched in partnership with the American Association of Community Colleges. Along with scholarship funds, The Metallica Scholars Initiative offers workforce opportunities and training to help students find careers and other educational programs post-graduation.
