Spokane AIDS Walk to focus on empowerment and community [Video]

SPOKANE, Wash. – The annual Spokane AIDS Walk will take place on Sept. 21 this year with a focus on empowering those living with HIV and AIDS.

Spokane’s AIDS Network was founded in 1985 by Spokane County Health District members who were for people dying of AIDS. It continues to serve as a community advocacy group that promotes inclusivity of people living with HIV and AIDS, the LGBTQ+ community and sexual education.

The 2024 walk will focus on building community and fighting stigma after a difficult few years for the AIDS network caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Those interested in attending can gather in Riverfront park at 10 a.m. for the event, which will include drinks, snacks and prizes.
